Home Farm Glamping’s Sustainability Journey with Wenta’s Action Zero Programme
Home Farm Glamping, established by Alice Darby in 2015, is a hospitality venture offering unique glamping experiences and events in Hertfordshire. Committed to sustainability, Alice joined Wenta’s Action Zero Programme, supported by Hertsmere Borough Council, to better understand and reduce their carbon footprint.
Home Farm Glamping
A small business with a team size varying between 1-12 depending on the season, Home Farm Glamping focuses on providing eco-friendly retreats. Alice was motivated by a need to diversify from traditional agriculture and create a sustainable, nature-centric business.
Alice Darby’s Vision
“Our goal is to make informed decisions that place sustainability at the heart of our operations, guiding us towards net-zero emissions,” says Alice. Through the Gold Membership in Hertsmere Action Zero, Home Farm Glamping has received valuable tools and personalised support, enabling significant progress in their sustainability journey.
Achievements and Future Plans
The programme has equipped Alice with the knowledge to manage the land for biodiversity, and she plans to join the BNG Scheme to further these efforts. Additionally, Home Farm Glamping will soon offer sponsorship packages for businesses with sustainability goals, providing support for conservation work while offering perks such as complimentary stays and event discounts.
