Swing into action – it’s the Year of the Monkey!
5 min readAs 2015 slips quietly away and 2016 comes roaring in, full of potential and new opportunities, what are you going to do to make the most of the new piece of calendar stretching out before you? Perhaps you need the website tidying up (complete re-write?).
Maybe a review of your marketing strategy – there are lots of businesses paying lip service to digital marketing (“yes yes of course we have a social media presence…”) without exploring the possibilities and without identifying which medium best fits their marketing strategy. Instagram is now second to Facebook in global users - did you know that? Do you make as much use of t’internet as you could?
The New Year merits a look at your strategy– for sales, marketing, growth... you probably review none of them as often as you should. Look at a few other ‘new’ things - not just the year. New clients - is networking something your business could benefit from? How do you promote yourself? New networks – not just the formal ones and the ones you go to for a coffee and moan, ones where you actually develop useful new contacts. New comfort zone – develop one as there’ll be things you’re avoiding because you don’t like them or don’t understand them, commonly related to social media. Look for new initiatives – although scarce, there may just be some new local grants in the New Year, such as energy saving schemes. Examine new ways of looking after existing clients; remember it’s massively easier to keep a client than find a new one from cold, however demanding and unreasonable you may think the existing one is.
From 8th February, it’s the Year of the Monkey…so swing into action and implement some of your resolutions!
